Abstract

The purpose of this study was to design and fabrication of rotary jet electrospinning (RJE) technique by DC high voltage fly back converter for polymer fibers production. The efficiency of fly back converter was analyzed to pulse signal pattern. The processing conditions, including concentration of shellac and polypropylene polymer, distance between needle and collector, angular velocity and signal detection of fly back converter, respectively. The results showed that pulse signal of TL 494 (input) was square pulse signal pattern at 10% and 40% duty cycle, frequency 24 kHz and 50 kHz found that the highest of high voltage was 6.5 kV. The concentration of shellac and polypropylene polymer directly affected the formation of polymer fiber. Shellac and polypropylene polymer fibers were successfully prepared at 40 %wt, collector distance 10 cm, angular velocity rate at 2,500 rpm and diameters of fibers were in a range of 10-70 µm for shellac polymer as for the concentration of polypropylene polymer at 20 %wt, collector distance 10 cm, angular velocity rate at 3,000 rpm and diameters of fibers were in a range of 5-45 µm, respectively.
